Lots of science-related reading

The Tangled Bank

There's a glut of great science posts online at the moment so I thought I'd point them out to you. First off theres the science carnivals; The second performance of the Circus of the Spineless is underway at Snail's Tales (complete with creationist controversy!) and The Tangled Bank is in its 40th iteration at The Examining Room of Dr Charles.

The Tangled Bank includes my post about the phylogenteics of science blogs, that post has spurred some thoughts from philosopher (and blogger) of science John WIlkins.

Finally, Carl Zimmer from The Loom reports more research relating to one of his pet stories, why trees actively change their colours during autumn.

I'm always wondering why the universe keeps creating spheres in every creation, been a supernova, galaxy, planet, star, it is always a sphere, maybe we should pay attention to the sacred geometry that the ancient cultures use.
